Kristi Kongi's main field of practice is painting. She focusses on color, light, space and text. Kongi closely engages with the mechanisms of emotional memory, offering an opportunity to experience color and light of bygone situations. For the artist, painting functions as a way to document various spaces and objects of personal importance, thereby capturing time.

Kristi Kongi (1985) lives and works in Estonia. She studied painting in Tartu Art College (BA) and the Estonian Academy of Arts (MA), where she is currently the head of the painting department. Kongi was awarded with the Konrad Mägi Prize in 2017, and the Estonian Cultural Endowment’s annual award in 2021.
